Health and wellbeing starts at home. TAIBU Community Health Centre supports Black-identifying families of all ages and stages throughout Scarborough and across the GTA to create a nurturing, healthy environments that support mental health, as well as physical and spiritual wellbeing.

Giving Families the Best Start for a Bright Future

Families identifying as Black are welcome and encouraged to participate in programs offered in partnership with the Scarborough Perinatal Network to ensure baby’s best start in life. Parents benefit from education and hands-on support to reinforce their knowledge and efforts. 

Our Care for Families Programs and Services

Bringing a new baby home can be intimidating. TAIBU is partnered with the Scarborough Perinatal Support Network, ensure parents get the support they need to ensure babies have what they need to thrive. 

Assessment and one-to-one psychological counselling, group support and referrals as required for pregnant women
and new parents.

Participants benefit from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to identify and break negative patterns that contribute toward anxiety and depression.

Education and support from a lactation consultant for mothers and babies, to support babies to thrive.
